Eh, I don't like S6 but I can't begrudge Buffy her depression there. She was in heaven, she was at peace, and then people she loved ripped her out and she had to claw her way out of her own grave and then face a world where, let's face it, everything sucked. Knowing there's a heaven is one thing, but knowing it's there and being ripped out of it against your will (plus having no guarantee you'll be allowed back) is totally different.

Especially the clawing her way out of her own grave. I mean what sorts of idiots try to raise the dead, but don't dig the corpse up first? Was it just stupidity, or was there a huge amount of squeamishness too? Frankly anyone who is too squeamish to handle the decaying corpse of their own best friend probably doesn't deserve to have her back anyway.

That actually always really bugged me ever since I first saw the episode. If you guys know you're going to resurrect her and all, why the hell wouldn't you dig up the grave? Did they just think she was going to pop up in mid-air all alive or something? I know Buffy's friends weren't always the sharpest crayons in the box, but surely it had to occur to someone that they should probably dig the grave up and open the coffin. Sure, it's morbid and creepy, but once you've hit 'raising the dead' digging up the corpse first shouldn't be that much of an issue.

I think that was their next step- but initially they thought the spell had failed. Motorcycle demons interrupted and destroyed the... blood snake vase thing they were using, and all of the Scoobies scattered. So, they did not have time to dig her up, nor did they think there was any reason.

And I don't know, I'd wait until I was pretty sure the spell had worked before I went rooting up a corpse.

It takes a good couple of hours to dig up a corpse, and you can only get a couple of people digging it up and once you get down a bit they get in each other's way, or so I'm told anyway. If you are planning on raising the dead then you gotta dig up the body first otherwise the newly reanimated might suffocate in the coffin while you are digging them up.

I think they did actually think that. When they realise she dug her way out they were horrified.

and she had to claw her way out of her own grave

Wow I almost forgot about that part. Damn, that was fucked up. I know it was probably done for the sake of drama or whatever but it just made everyone else seem like total dicks. They couldn't dig her up at least? Jeeze

then everything was on fire and she could barely see but had enough vision to WATCH HERSELF BEING TORN LIMB-FROM-LIMB (yes it was a robot, but how would she know that)... all in all her awakening was the worst case scenario and a lesser person would be irreparably broken from that experience + heaven loss + everything that's happened in her life ever since being the slayer
