Way to miss the point, OP. Buffy was depressed because her friends took that very certainty of heaven away from her. She'd made it safely to death without committing any reprehensible sin or being turned into a vampire or some shit, which was a miracle in itself, and now she was brought back for another sparkling chance to buy herself a one-way ticket to the other place. Which I wouldn't be surprised if she did, because she came back into a ruined life that started with clawing out of her own grave and then got worse, driving her to do some pretty fucked-up things she never would have before. Yeah, sure, sounds like a recipe for peace and strength to me.

And I say that as someone who also hated Buffy's depressed crap - because yes, it was overwrought and got old fast, but that doesn't mean it wasn't justified.
