I don't care either way; I enjoyed the book, I'm going to enjoy the movies, and if other people like them that's awesome, I'll be glad to have someone to share the squee with. If not, it isn't the end of the world.

Though funnily enough, I have a friend who loves Lord of the Rings and couldn't get through The Hobbit. She saw Hobbit and really enjoyed it. So did another friend who wouldn't even watch LOTR; now she's looking forward to the second film. So, yea, they might not have the same exact audience and everyone might not be satisfied (though when are they ever), but I'm just glad they're being made. *shrugs*
