The issue I would have for you/character is that they have no sense of actually who I am. (How could they?) So the dialogue has to assume I'm not saying anything or I'm reacting like in a particular way, which even if I do, I don't like being told I do, so it ends up irritating me.

At least Mary Sues are more personal to the author and never pretending to be me, so unless they're actually obnoxious, I'm not so put off.

Manips are either creepy or hilarious so I'm fascinated more often than I am put off (though I am occasionally put off).
