He has excellent angry eyebrows

A+ [personal profile] case for putting this at 13.

Hah I didn't even notice. Awesome. (And it made me ridiculously happy too.)
philstar22: (Doctor 10 to 11)

So agreed. I adore Matt, but I'm also really excited for Capaldi. That's usually my reaction, it seems. I'm sad to see the old Doctor go, but also like "bring on the new one!", and Capaldi is going to be awesome.

Actually, that whole scene made me ridiculously happy. I've watched just that scene about 30 times now.

The Doctor change over is the most exciting part of the series for me. It's sad to see the previous Doctor go but it's awesome seeing the new one come in!

The prospect of Capaldi!Doctor is like...90% of the reason why I am still watching.

Secret 13 - Doctor Who

[Picture is an animated GIF image with a man frowning and someone flicking a switch on a board? Fandom is noted as "Doctor Who".]

This shot made me ridiculously happy.

It is Peter Capaldi, recently cast as the 12th Doctor. He had a very brief cameo in the anniversary special where you only see of him what is in the gif: his eyes and his hand on the TARDIS console.

Ah, thank you very much! I will add this to page 2.

I am excited about all of this. I love the whole period of Doctor transition, with regeneration episodes and costume announcements and post-regeneration episodes and getting to know the new Doctor and what makes him different and seeing how the companions react, so getting it seeded in the show here was fantastic.

What's even better is that it was pointed out somewhere that, if any of the people who refused to find out who the new Doctor was going to be because they wanted to be "surprised" on Christmas actually managed to make it to the 50th, they were instead "surprised" by a pair of eyebrows.

He looks likes an angry Doctor. Like maybe a 9 instead of a happy go lucky 11. I'm excited to see him as the Doctor and hope his plotlines aren't timey wimey rehashing of 11.
philstar22: (Doctor 10 to 11)

[personal profile] philstar22 2013-12-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I think he's supposed to be a lot darker than 11.

That's good to hear. I think a darker Doctor will work nicely after 11's supposed fairytale seasons.

You're not the only one. I was so happy that I started crying. Then again, I'll admit that scene that whole scene happened made me cry and deliriously happy.
philstar22: (Doctor 10 to 11)

[personal profile] philstar22 2013-12-07 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. I love that scene because even as someone who hasn't actually watched much classic Who, it was so epic and nostalgic. It was all about the Doctor, period, no matter the era or version, and the whole 50 years of the show. It was awesome.

Me toooooo I'm excited for the new doctor now just because of that one second.

I was glad to see it too, because you don't get to see much of the next Doctor before the regeneration, if at all. The nearest to that ever happening was the Watcher in Logopolis, who was just a weird white figure, not an actual shot of the next actor, like this is.

And I know this is not hugely far ahead, but it's far enough to feel good anyway.

Well there's Colin Baker in Arc of Infinity!

It was amazing!

(Anonymous) 2013-12-07 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Me too! It's funny, short as that glimpse was it really made me think "yeah, he's got what it takes to be the Doctor." Maybe it was the intensity in his eyes, it's a very Doctor expression.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-07 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Me too, anon. I grinned like a maniac. :)

(Anonymous) 2013-12-07 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Why is this a secret? Every other damn Whovian out there had the same reaction.
