I'm the daughter of a well-known SF writer. (I don't like to say who on the general internets, but I'll say who if you PM me.) Anyway at a convention when I was about 13 and my sister was 17, some guy read our badges and asked if we were indeed related to [our parent]. We said yes. And then he goes, "Can I touch you??" WTF no! We basically ran away. Creeper. :\
