Re: Men with rape kinds (Themselves as the rapist)

It would depend, for me. Like, do they have rape fantasies *in general*, and are aware that there's a difference between fantasy and reality? That's totally fine by me. Hell, I'll admit to finding non-con and rape fics hot, precisely because it's such a violation. But strictly in the realm of fiction.

Someone who admits to specifically fantasizing about raping *me*? That skeeves me out quite a bit more, and I'd really only be at all okay with that in the context of a relationship where we were laying out kinks for some sort of negotiation, and then only if he were pretty clear about "hey, I know this is fucked up, but it's a turn-on. Totally not expecting anything, and I'd never do anything without your OK."

Someone I'm just getting to know or date brings it up (either as a general fantasy or specifically)? Yeah, that's gonna be a deal breaker.

This, exactly. There's a huge difference (at least to me) between fantasizing about rape, and fantasizing about raping me.* But if they laid it out the way you described, I'd be much more okay with it.

* Though, now that I think about it, that too can be broken down into something I'm okay with and something I'm not. To me, there's a difference between them just fantasizing about raping me, and having rape fantasies that happen involve me because I'm the specific person they're interested in having sex with. The latter I'd be much more comfortable with.

AYRT:

Also yes to fantasies that happen to involve me, rather than being specifically *about* me.

I always feel weirdly guilty about intentionally fantasizing about actual people I know (one of the reason fictional characters are handy!), but sometimes my brain pops them in, 'cause I'm attracted to them.

DA

Also yes to fantasies that happen to involve me, rather than being specifically *about* me.

Ohhhh, that's an excellent distinction and way of phrasing it. Thank you. Made something I've been pondering *click* in my brain.
