12. I do that with everyone. One time it ended up with Envy and Riddler flirting because they had the same colorscheme. Brain-characters are pretty rad. (Usually they all end up making fun of me, thought, or trying to get me to do dumb stuff. Dunno what that says about me. But it's still awesome!)

37. Speaking as a huge fan of Shigure (to the point that I once considered him my animated-male-Japanese doppelganger) (I'm not crazy anymore, though), I don't think that those who like him let him off the hook for being a "bishie." Shigure has many good qualities beyond his physical attractiveness (and it's not even like we can really single him out on that count-- is there anyone in the Sohma family who's not preternaturally hot?): his easygoing demeanor, his wicked sense of humor, his dorkiness, etc. He's also a manipulative bastard who has intentionally hurt people for no good reason. He's not Tohru, all sweetness and light. He's not even Hatori, angsting nobly. He's flawed. Seriously flawed. He's arguably not a very good person. Are there honestly Shigure-fen out there who don't acknowledge that? To me, the idea seems very odd.

I get the sense that people who think that about Shigure only know the anime. That's been my experience, at least. I think I like him because he appeals to the dark side of human nature, and I'm predisposed to identify with manipulative bastards who actually have decent motives for some reason, even if they do do horrible stuff.

23. I can't vote for him because I'm not in South Carolina, but I will be completely ecstatic if he makes a significant dent in that state. I hope he does. Even if he's not really qualified to be president, I think it makes a statement that we're all so frustrated with the current state of politics that we'd really rather have a comedian for president.

13. Maybe, but I think you might be too rash. =\ Not everyone who dislikes her is a misogynist girl-hater. I'm not in the fandom either, but if I were, I don't think I'd like. The character archetype really annoys me. Just most girls aren't wimpy and pathetic in real life, not all of them fall into the category of being awesomely KA, totally deep and strong at the same time. Does that make me one of "them"?

07) Oh man, I haven't watched XS in years! I think I stopped in season two or three, but sometimes I'd catch the reruns on CN, and I realized I didn't love it as much as I used to. It made me depressed. Growing up that way hit me so hard. I loved Raimundo and Clay, though. Clay gets no love.

14/NS!1: FUCK YEAH MIYAVI. He's soooo amazing live, seriously. ♥ I will admit he's handsome to boot, but... I love reading his journal entries. He's just so...human. Which, yeah, sounds lame. XD; But the way he communicates is amazing, and I think he's just such a great person.

Not to mention I envy his musical talents. XD;

37. Oh fucking hell I love Shigure. I love the fact he is a bastard, and that his dichotomous nature is just so well thought out. (Opinion, yeaaah.) I mean...he pretended to be such a joyful adult...but in reality he's such a darker person. Hell, not everyone can be goody-two-shoes, right? People just have a darker side to him, and obviously Shigure was able to fulfill the evil in most people. I don't know exactly, just what I feel.

Also? Smoking!Shigure + Glasses + Sexy = HELL. FUCKING. YES.

I fell in love with anime and manga.
i fell in love with japan.
i went and lived there.
I LOVED IT and miss it EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE and would never trade that experience for anything.

Obviously, I live here and love it too. I also love anime and manga, and am a pretty active fan sometimes.

The fact remains that Japan, despite it's awesome, is NOT some magical cure-all to your problems. I mean, I think it's cool and fabulous, and love it. And I love being here and living here.

But it has solved NONE of my problems, and won't solve anyone's problems, which is what we've been ranting about.

I'm not against anime fans coming here to live and experiance a slice of otaku-dom, but I want them to realize it's not going to change and fix all thier problems.
