Seriously. My coworker is a self-professed former bully, and I've since learned she's still a bully, just old enough to be sneakier about it. We're basically adult versions of who we were as kids.

Plus, given that the "it gets better" is typically in reference to gay kids... if they're living in a community where the entire school makes fun of them for being gay, I'm guessing adults have the same problem. :/ (Although sometimes kids do say and do ignorant things independent of their parents, or even what they really believe - I'd make jokes I knew weren't funny because I wanted to seem "cooler" and edgier than I really was.)
