OP
(Anonymous) 2013-12-08 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)They're more filled with rage cries of "Thanks Frozen for once again filling a whole movie with white people! The Sami are POC native to the region! Why couldn't you have made one of the characters Sami?"
To which I discovered that while Sami are a minority, they are white. So complaining about "too many white people" while supplementing that argument with a solution of "fill the movie with Sami people" is dumb. Because the Sami are white. Kristoff could very well be Sami, and we'd never know.
IDK, the whole thing reeks of 'white people are evil' and 'everyone who is oppressed cannot white' which kind of gets on my nerves because it is, as you said, very American-centric.

TBH I think the reason it floods the Internet so much, is because there are so many Americans putting their whole social lives and interactions ON the Internet. Which, y'know, is a privilege. A pathetic privilege, but still.
