i think anon means "children"

IE the intended audience for the film

No, I think anon meant "people who don't participate in fandom," which includes the vast majority of consumers of almost any work of fiction - a fact that a lot of people in fandom tend to forget.

Lots of "grown-ups" like movies made for kids and families. It's not nearly as weird as you seem to think, and movie makers realize that and often try to include family-friendly content that adults will enjoy.
