I'm a little lost here... The OP was trying to learn so they're ignorant and stupid? Someone wanna explain this line of thinking to me?

"the OP was trying to learn" sounds a lot better than "they looked at a google image search", I give you that. Still, I'd expect more from a person who wanted to learn something.

But doesn't one have to start somewhere? Isn't it a little damning to assume that the OP stopped at the image search and didn't move onto doing some reading?

This. Not OP, but no one learns everything instantly. For me, sometimes that means googling pics first, then going on the Wikipedia, etc. etc. etc. (I know some librarian is going to come after me for the Wikipedia part.) Learning is a process, and it always starts small.

There is truth to the statement, Learning is a journey, not a destination-- and that's coming from someone who works in special ed. I always tell the kids that all we (the aides, the teachers, etc.) ask is that they give it the ol' college try. Same principle here.

((Haha, I use Wikipedia all the time. I just use the sources linked in the articles. Those little footnotes have saved my ass during Public Speaking 141 this year. :D ))

I think the secret was painfully clear, so I don't get why you need to have it explained. But sure -- all the OP did was do an image search on Google. That is not "learning", at least not by my definition of the word.

I'll ask you the same question I asked above: How do we know that this isn't where the OP chose to start? How do you know the OP didn't move onto articles next? If you want people to learn, don't nag at them for starting somewhere. That's why I'm confused.

If the OP planned on actually researching the subject, they would've done so before running off to make and submit a secret about it, don't you think?

They did...hence all the people that know more about the culture AGREEING with them THEM and NOT YOU.

The Anon below me actually nailed it... The OP put in the effort to start somewhere. To be perfectly honest, attitudes like that, that tear people down for trying, are the reason people don't try to learn things at all, because they're afraid of being demonized for it. People try, and they get criticized for it; they don't try, and they get criticized for being ignorant. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. :/
