I've got my issues with those books, too, but by the time I read them, I was already on my way to being disillusioned with the entire 'verse, so their problems were less dismaying. Although it did solidify my tooth-grinding hatred for Bran.

Ah, for me, I already had some problems with the verse but they weren't deal breaking, but then I got into that one and it made it like 10x worse and I couldn't deal with it. Even after reading the critiques, I think the Mercy Thompson series will likely remain in my "problematic but still enjoy it overall" pile of things I read/watch. But it was an interesting read, thanks. :)
