What did people who were boycotting it because of racism expect to happen if they were successful and the movie was a failure? That Disney would say "Gosh, if only we'd had some POC in this movie, then it would've done better at the box office. We'll be sure to fix that next time!"

Not that they'd say, "Gosh, I guess movies about relationships between women really don't interest people. We'll go back to focusing on romance and pushing male leads into the spotlight"?

Come on. We all know which one it would be.

The depressing thing about that second one is there are probably still a lot of movie execs who think just that, even though the box office just had a record-breaking Thanksgiving weekend courtesy of two movies with female leads.
