No worries. I'm sporadic lately, so I just think it's cool that you replied at all tbh.

oh god your evidence disappears into her panties! I really missed her mind-reading, 4th-wall breaking abilities though, so yeah I'm a bit sore that she didn't get to be an assistant (outside of the quiz dlc). I hope that if AA6 ever happens, it doesn't just retcon or push the sibling topic aside further... The Lamiroir reference was there, but didn't that costume end up being called an original design or something? but it gives me Juniper, professional cosplayer who sews their own clothes, headcanons at the same time

I just feel like I've seen her before, although I wouldn't call her "Kay 2.0" as some folk have taken. I guess I keep expecting a riskier take on the mandatory assistant characters. Maybe a surly girl? A peppy boy? Still, despite what I saw as generic genki traits, her competitive streak and slapstick moments were awesome. I also really didn't expect her freezeups.

But did I already mention how much I loved the sempai-kohai-SIBLINGS thing going on between her and Apollo? Holy crap, all of the adoptive family feelings going all over the place between all them defense lawyers, it was like watching a fanfiction made canon, but also not terrible and ruined. Phoenix practically calls them his kids! And Trucy thinking it was something she did, as if she made Apollo mad, and oh my heartstrings ;__;
So. Much. Fodder.

Yeah. I just couldn't get into Blackquill :( A lot of the UR-1 problems were kind of basically completely solveable if the police work wasn't even worse than usual (even with the phantom "discovering" the body) or if his plan wasn't so needlessly convoluted. Yeah, yeah. Samurai honor, die for your lord hime-sama whatever. I tried to be impressed?
Leave the bird in his place though, the true cutie star of the game.
His voice clips were great though imo, and again it was the humour that moved him from annoying to entertaining.

I was wary. I'm not actually fond of the first Investigations game, but I did like the characters despite the plot. Sort of the same here, and even with case 5-3 being one that I actually didn't enjoy at least most of the characters were memorable. And it was interesting that although DD was labelled a Phoenix Wright game, but that, like AA4, it wasn't actually about the titled character.

Everyone goes through waves on fs. I remember you! (I have you on my 3DS too I believe.)

I don't know a lick of Japanese, so unfortunately I will never play the quiz dlc. Was it good?

OMG THE LAIMOROIR COSTUME. It bothered me that NO ONE MENTIONED THE COINCIDENCE. ESPECIALLY APOLLO. Like, the case wasn't that long ago guys. Since they are keeping Trucy and Apollo around (thankfully), AA4 really needs the loose ends tied up.

I could kinda see a Kay 2.0 comparison. Personally, I believe she brought a bit more to the table and her secret science love was pretty cool in my books. But like I said before, I'm pretty laid back when it comes to companions. I have a tendency to love them all. Diversity is always nice, however.

The family Wright feels was the best <3 The sense of family in this game was amazing. I just want fics of them going to Disney Land and having picnics together. Family Wright outings. Aaaaah. The potential for fic and doujinshi is awesome.

Taka is the best. I felt bad for the judge everything time Taka attacked him, but I still laughed.

I liked the first Investigations game. I need to replay it, again. I liked controlling Miles and doing more sleuthing work. But I am obviously easy to please, haha. True! I guess the game was split up enough between Athena, Apollo, and Phoenix, they still found reason to call it a Phoenix Wright game. The probably didn't' want to alienate anymore players by calling it something else as well.

Yes, I think that was from the AC:NL thread way back? I think I even swapnoted you a few times too (rip, precious app).

Haven't played it, but I've been looking at segments (skip to 3:50 for the actual first part) and screencaps where I can. Hopefully I'll be able to get a Japanese 3DS to eventually buy the game... twice? aw man. Still though, it's gold for dialogue between either lawyer's POV and their assistant. The entire premise is ridiculous, but you get the chance to explore certain sections of the areas you aren't allowed to investigate in the main game (WAA office for instance! that red jacket? it's Apollo's!). The quizzes themselves are okayish I suppose. I guess it's a bit like Layton, and your assistant is a bit like your Luke, or a Watson your lawyer gets to amaze with how they solve these things. Still, for the chance to have that extra bit of commentary on those unexplored areas and more dialogue between characters, it's wonderful even if it's not a lot.

Someone in the CR forums has been translating the dialogue bits (not the quizzes) whenever they can though, so there's that.

At least I have fanart and fanfiction to satiate the lack of closure with the siblings.

I don't know about Kay though. She's more of a deus ex machina with her ability and introduction if I want to simplify her. The most I ask for story and characters is that I feel strongly about it in any direction, rather than having it/them fall flat. And so far AA/AI has been pretty good about it's protagonists, villains, and prosecutors in that regard. (Simon will probably grow on me eventually, and I'll wonder why I didn't think about him from a different new meta angle or whatever).

So sad swapnote is gone. Mii Universe of whatever, isn't the same.

The segment link goes to the normal youtube video page for me :( I'll check youtube to see if I can find it. If you can understand what is being said, twice is fine, haha. I would too. (That reminds me that Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright is coming out soon! Super excited for it.)

Thanks for the translation links!

Fanfic does make everything better :)

Fair enough. I need to replay Investigations and see if my opinion of her has changed.
