I can understand this, as I've seen someone complain about Katniss "freaking out all the time" (referring to her panic attacks) during the movie Catching Fire. Despite the fact that it HEAVILY implies she developed PTSD from fighting in the Hunger Games, which is extremely plausible.

You can't expect EVERYONE to be educated about mental illness and the sheer bullshit some people actually have to deal with everyday (and I say this as a neurotypical person) but it bothers me sometimes

Wait, seriously? People say that? I mean, I feel like it's everything short of written on your face as a viewer that she's suffering from PTSD, especially when she's in the arena... Also she really doesn't express her feelings that much, apart from her actual panic attacks.

... I'm seriously baffled and disconcerted. If people think panic attacks and calm expressions of emotion are "overly emotional," then I shudder to think what they must think of most of the world, including their friends...

The funny/sad thing is that those people probably over-react at the slightest provocation.

Reminds me of people calling Samus "hysterical" when she froze up when meeting Ridley again in Other M. Don't get me wrong, Other M was a bad game, but some game magazine even brought in former U.S. soldiers and they said "yeah, it looks like she's got PTSD" and fandom still denied it.

Really? All I see are complaints about the love triangle. I can't believe people are complaining about her dealing with trauma. Are these the same people who are all excited over that Capitol-inspired makeup line?
