Sorry to make another post but I am hardly ever here when it's commenting time and I swear to GOD:

Godfucking dammit Attack On Titan fandom, you are like fucking children with a shiny object. The second a character does something weird or quirky you take that one thing and DRIVE IT INTO THE FUCKING GROUND. Every single goddamn 'joke' was never funny in the first place and it sure as hell isn't now because you never. fucking. shut up about it.

And the worst thing about it, the story actually sometimes shows reasons why these quirks exist, but you fucking ignore it for making more jokes.

JOAN/MYCROFT. WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE SEEING THIS PAIRING. DID I DO SOMETHING HORRIBLE? AM I BEYOND REDEMPTION? WhaTTT teHHHH FCKU???? Oh my god why is it a thing. I want it to go away asap. I want my Elementary back. THEY HAVE NO CHEMISTRY. MYCROFT IS A BLAND CHARACTER. THE SITUATION IS SO AWKWARD, and it effectively renders Joan's actions in Step Nine senseless.

Simple, exaggerated personality traits become shorthand for a character or person. We do the same for groups, and end up with stereotypes.

I feel ya. Characters, especially vivid characters, tend to turn into tropes in fandom's eyes. I see it so often with The Stoic and Not So Stoic that I could drink myself to death if it were a drinking game. Not So Stoic+plus some quirkiness+the Method=essentially a comic version of Sherlock Holmes.

I can understand that, but the thing is the fandom focuses ONLY on those traits and ignores their character development. Everyone laughs at Sasha for being a potato-fiend but totally forgets that she killed a titan with a bow and hatchet. It just pisses me off.

All my fandom rage is revolving around how much the Attack on Titan fandom sucks big donkey balls and how fucking disappointed I am about it so sadly I have nothing to add.

Oh wait. All the pairings suck.

They are all terrible.

Hello, this is your friendly neighborhood intrigueing reminding you one more time that if you ship two characters, it is not necessary to either a) insist they fell in love at first sight and have been madly in love with each other but hiding it all that time, or b) insist that any other romantic relationships - or even friendships - they may have ever had at any point during their lifetime were lukewarm and worthless in order make the ~twu wuv~ of the OTP shine all the brighter. It doesn't work.

It gets worse when said characters are quite old or are practically immortal. Yeah, sure, this guy is 200+ years old but they have only loved ONE AND ONLY ONE person. Pft.

This, big time. sadly it crops up so often that I just tend to tune that part out in fic most of the time these days.

Dear XMFC, MCU, and Amazing Spider-Man fandoms,

If you're a fan of the movies and don't want to read the comics, that's cool. The movies are cool. The comics are cool. It's all cool.

BUT STOP TAGGING YOUR FIC AS COMICVERSE WHEN IT IS CLEARLY SET IN THE MOVIEVERSE. SOME OF US LOOK AT THOSE TAGS BECAUSE WE WANT TO READ COMICVERSE FIC. AND NO, THE CANONS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. If you're going to incorporate bits of characters' comic backstories into your movieverse fic, that's fine, BUT DON'T FUCKING TAG IT AS COMICVERSE. AO3 HAS SEPARATE CATEGORIES FOR A REASON GODDAMNIT.

AOT fandom, every time you repost "Sasha just ripped a giant fart sir" it gets less funny and I hate Mikasa more. What a dick move, blaming Sasha of all people? Sasha didn't have anything to do with what really caused the disruption! If Mikasa said it was Eren or Jean who farted, that would be a little funny, but no it had to be poor innocent Sasha who just wanted to eat. Actually, can people keep posting that quote but with this commentary instead of "lolol that's so funny I can't believe she said that lol farts" that would satisfy me immensely thank.

Tumblr Dragon Age fandom is so fucking oversensitive. Someone posts a confession saying they find the Qun comforting; a couple of people reply going "eh, not really", one person replies with a detailed "this is why the Qun is fucked-up", OP proceeds to act as though they've been ~attacked~.

People ask the mods of the confession blog to "tag negative confessions". The mods already don't tag "I hate x character" confessions with x character's name. Fucking grow up and accept that some people won't like the things you do.

There are way, WAY too many mi'qotes (catpeople race) in final fantasy XIV. I don't know why but it annoys me so much.
