I ultimately agree. It feels very self-instert-y when someone uses their own choice of name (unless, I guess, if it seems correct for the character's origin). And ESPECIALLY when people make a big effing deal about the name itself. "OH, it symbolizes my snow white hair and powerful ice magic oh ho ho!". I know there's this crazy popular Cullen/Amell fic that goes on and on about how the Warden has a ~boyyyy name~ oh golly!

A lot of the time I can get over it, but there's always that suspicion.

OH, you mean an RPG with a vast amount of choices and character design seems 'self-inserty' when people don't want to use the bland default names? Do you even know what an actual self-insert is?

I know, isn't it awful when the player/writer tries to be a little original instead of the bland default name? You know, actually play the game as an RPG, and write their story about it?

But that would be ~self insert~ and we can't have that.

How about you and OP butt out and let people enjoy themselves without your prissy judgment.
