I get ya. It's not a big deal to me, but I get a bit... 'but Jesus has never existed in this world!' when I see Christmas fic in an non-AU setting. Or when Father Christmas pops up in Narnia...

I don't mind a Christmas-like celebration if it's just supposed to be a generic holiday for their winter solstice or some in-world historical event. Lots of cultures have solstice celebrations, and as long as it isn't specifically 'Christmas' I'll usually give it a pass.

(And in Narnia's defense, Aslan essentially is lion-shaped Jesus.)

Plus the first humans to live in Narnia were from Victorian London. It's just about hand-wavable that Christmas celebrations might have come into Narnia with them.

Doesn't Father Christmas...actually show up in Narnia in canon, though? In The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, doesn't he come whizzing by while all the kids are hiding under a snowbank hoping the sleigh they can hear isn't the White Witch's? And everybody gets a present but Edmund, who, being po-faced and also addicted to magic candy, had at that point gone to sell them all out.

SA

Unless that was actually your point in which case feel free to ignore me.

Indeed, it was a measure of the White Witch's evil that she made it always winter but never Christmas. The White Witch turns into stone a group of animals celebrating with Father Christmas provided goodies. So now I'm trying to figure out if the OP of the comment is trolling or merely forgetful.
