I like the Hunger Games movies way better than I like the books. I don't know about fandom, but that also seems to be the general consensus among my friends.

Suzanne Collins was primarily a screenwriter before these books, so it makes sense that they'd be better stories on the screen. She essentially wrote the novelizations of a movie that didn't exist yet.

Same for me and everyone I know. I really enjoyed the books, but the movies so far have been even better!

Add me to this list. I liked the books enough but couldn't get properly flaily about the stories until they were movies.

Yup, me too. Collins can tell a story, but she can NOT write narrative.

I still prefer the books because they offer more of the backstory and worldbuilding, but Collins can NOT write a good narrative. If I hadn't watched the first movie and wanted to find out more about the world and how the story continued I would not have finished the first book. The writing really wasn't any good.
