I don't understand your weird dichotomous use of the word "but".

It's perfectly possible to both be unreasonable and selfish and to be like that because you were treated like crap. Reacting selfishly doesn't mean the crap-treating is okay, nor does being treated like crap make it okay to be selfish.

I really don't get why people complain that the movies are "silly". Of course they are not as serious as the LoTR ones; the source book has got so many intentionally goofy and funny moments! I was a small child when I read it for the first time, and even then it did not strike me as particularly serious. The whole point was to write an awesomesauce adventure story with a smashing setting and some interesting psychological/moral dynamics, a bit like Kidnapped.

Although I do think that three hours of Radagast haring around would kind of defeat the whole "awesome adventure with a plot" point, it is not the silliness that's the issue here.

I tried to like this show, I really did. I kept hearing people call it the new X-Files and whatnot before it aired. I just couldn't keep interested passed the first few episodes. It's so...bland to me. I think if Abbie had been white, the show would have already been canceled. The only good things about that show is the diversity, and it's sad that the fandom is so shitty about it.

I'm sorry. All I can think about when I see your secret is the Power Puff Girls because of your font. It made me really happy.

As for your actual secret? I don't mind them if they're done well. The problem is that a lot of times I feel like writers shove one in even if they don't really fit the story because it's what expected of them. So they're not done well as a result. But a love triangle itself doesn't have to be bad. Like any literary tool it's how it's used that matters.

So don't worry about it and ignore conversations about it. Less stress on your end that way.
