I prefer my characters to switch who tops and bottoms. Just a thing. I don't get off on power dynamics so that might have something to do with it.

Of all the Merlin fic I've read (and it's been a lot), Merlin/Arthur is good for this too.

It depends on the character for me. Most of the time I prefer switching, but sometimes I do have a preference with particular characters. And often that preference is the exact opposite of what the fandom preference seems to be.
