I have this weird thing where I really like that in femslash but don't go out of my way to find it in guyslash.

But seriously we need more of it. A lot of slash fans have really weird ideas of how relationships work. That's aside from the whole top/bottom absolutism issue. I hate that shit.

In my slash pairings, I usually prefer it when the bigger, stronger partner is the penetrated and/or submissive partner in smutty fic. I love the visual and the dynamic it elicits. It's unfortunately rare for a lot of smaller pairings, though, and no one else seems to squee over the same dynamic as me. [sad face emoticon]

I understand and share this kink a lot of the time. Not always, but often what you described hits SO many of my buttons. It is a shame there isn't more fic that caters to it.

Uh I tend not to like it when physical differences between characters are emphasized. I am a huge fan of macho characters bottoming, I'm just picky about weird slash tropes being applied to it...

I don't ship too much slash, but when I do I generally like the more "masculine" one to be the bottom and the less traditionally masculine one to top. If it's a longer fic I prefer they switch it up.

I don't have a strict preference whether the more masculine guy in a slash pairing bottoms or tops. But what I do hate is the widespread fandom rule that 'less masculine guy must bottom', no matter what the actual dynamics between the two characters are. Thor/Loki is a perfect example of this. In my opinion their dynamic is so much more sexier (and in my opinion much more true to canon, considering Loki has the power/domination thirst issues, while Thor is willing to submit to Loki's will time and time again. Loki having Thor in bonds is also canon, for example Blood Brothers), when Thor is on the bottom. But Thorki fandom is like eighty percent big macho Thor topping small girly submissive Loki. Sigh.

(Loki isn't even that 'feminine' of a character in the first place, fandom. Guy's just as tall as Thor...)

I'm not overly bothered I don't think, I like most of my slash ships to switch it up because it gets boring having the same character top all the time(and as much as I enjoy Thor/Loki finding fic where Thor bottoms is rare which does get annoying sometimes).

Coming from a place of similar preference (ESPECIALLY in regards to Thorki) have you checked out astolat's stuff, OP? I feel pretty confident in saying that Loki tops in all her fics. (And they're good, to boot).

And if the bottom is older, has a more dominative character in daily life and is what fandom loves in a "top" then I'd be all over such fic :D .

Yes, this pushes all of my happy buttons. It's such a kink of mine. The opposite leaves me dry most of the time (which is why I completely stopped reading porny things featuring my favorite slash pairing, the less muscly guy only gets to stick his dick in the other like one time out of thirty, not even worth the trouble of looking anymore).
