I just wish people would stop trying to convince themselves she's SECRETLY EVIL or something. Her bad crafting skills aside, I really don't think the writers are going there, and for fuck's sake, she's not even THAT big a threat to your OTP (she's trapped in a Purgatory!). Get over yourselves.

The threat thing I don't get at all. It would be so easy to say "We looked into it and no, actually, we can't bring Katrina back in a corporeal body" or maybe she dies in the attempt, etc. I ship Ichabod/Abbie in a kind of low-level, laid back way and am in no hurry to see them get together so I feel no anxiety about Katrina or see her as a problem. If the show wants to give us Ichabod/Abbie eventually, they can do it without making Katrina evil or even in the way and fandom doesn't need to either.

I guess character bashing is just sometimes the default setting for some people, though. I remember between S1 and 2 of Sherlock, there were some Sherlock/John fics that treated Sarah very awfully and I thought, Sarah is not a canon character from the stories so the chance of John/Sarah being endgame was never very high, and she and John weren't even really an item at the end of S1, so there was absolutely no reason to bash her at all in order to get John and Sherlock together.

I'm just chiming in to say ME TOO. <3 I do want to see Ichabod/Abbie, but I don't want it to be because Katrina is awful, and I want it to happen over time as Ichabod processes everything that's happened to his life, etc. But no, there is no need to turn Katrina evil to make that work, nor do I want it. It would make the ship way less fun if they took the easy way out.
