I agree about Abbie tbh (and I am a WOC). I dislike this tendency to worship POCs in works of media solely because of ~representation. Like yeah, OK, seeing yourself in the works you consume is great, but JUST because someone "looks like you" doesn't mean you're going to identify with them. Like, one of my all-time favourite characters is Hermione Granger precisely because she represents me to a T. I too was the overachieving one in school who loved to read and knowing every answer and handing in assignments early and who got depressed when she got anything less than a perfect score and THAT is something so rare to see represented in film, TV or literature that if characters like her suddenly started popping up in all the shows I love and they were all white, I would be ecstatic and would not give two shits. I mean, what is the point of seeing thousands of Hispanic characters if none of them are going to represent me as a person and embody the personality traits I identify with?

TL;DR I find the "representation" argument a hollow one.
