The problem is, and I know this is an unpopular thing to hear, but you will never love an adopted child the way you will love a child you personally brought into this world.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, man. I personally can't love any pets I haven't personally pushed out my lady cannon.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the analogy has become twisted, but I can work with it: You will never love a pet like you love a child, right? it's not just a species thing, because pets can often show you more love than a child, it's just that you don't feel connected to them in the same way.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone has never had a pet.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
No. Just no. You personally might never love a pet like you love a child, but I personally think that means something's wrong with you.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
DA, but...there are people who love their pets as much as children? Who have both pets and kids and value them both equally?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Considering how I've seen some people treat their children, I'd say I love my cats MORE than some people love their children so...

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha what is this comment?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh sweetheart. You tried so hard with this comment, didn't you? *pats you on the cheek* Bless your soul.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if that were true, so what? You'd still love them plenty.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
For the love of God, please don't tell me you believe that that covers all/most situations... Because making a conscious decision that "I want to have a child" and then choosing one child out of any others means that you will never love them as much as someone who got pregnant during a one night stand and drank throughout their pregnancy and didn't want to be a parent. (SARCASM MODE)

and?

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
So? You love everyone differently, but different does not mean better or more or less. It's just different. I love my best friend and my siblings equally, but it's not the same kind of love or the same kind of relationship.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-14 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Trollina no, Trollina why.

No one can blame you for walking away
But too much rejection, uh huh...
No love injection

Life can be easy
It's not always swell
Don't tell me truth hurts, little girl
'Cause it hurts like hell

But down in the underground
You'll find someone true
Down in the Underground
A land serene, a crystal moon

A-ha

It's only forever
Not long at all
Lost and Lonely
That's underground, underground

Daddy, daddy, get me out of here
Heard about a place today
Nothing ever hurts again

Daddy, daddy, get me out of here
Heard about a place today
Nothing ever hurts again

Sister, sister, please take me down,
gotta get underground

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Bullshit.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
It's true, you can never love anyone who isn't genetically related to you the way you love a relative. This is an important lesson that Wincest has taught me.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
lol

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
The dozen or so families I know with adopted children would beg to differ with you on that, I think. Just because you're incapable of loving a child you didn't personally create, doesn't mean that no one is.

Tell that to every sperm/egg donor who doesn't love the children they personally brought into the world at all. The myth that blood equals superior love is just that, a myth, that the many people who find better family in friends and lovers and adopted children than they every found in their gene pool can testify against.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-15 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
NO.

FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU SIDEWAYS WITH A RUSTED SAW.

MY ADOPTED MOTHER FUCKING LOVES THE SHIT OUT OF ME AND HAS DONE MORE FOR ME THAN ANYONE ELSE IN MY LIFE.

If you think she loves me LESS because I didn't come out of her cooch, I hope to god you never have children because your idea of what makes someone 'WORTH SOMETHING' to another human being is just fucked up.

I owe my mom everything I have, and you seriously need to consider the way that your words affect people because it's not just summing up your supposed views on maternal instincts, you're taking worth away from meaningful family relationships from the child's point of view. SERIOUSLY, FUCK YOU.

"Unpopular thing to hear" = people tend to yell at you when you say this, but dammit you'll keep saying it anyway because ... Well ... Uh ...

I mean, is this some Very Important Truth to you, or what? Except it's not really true at all, so it can't be that. Maybe you're just a jerk.
