This. Not fond of the Ichabod/Katrina storyline or pairing, but at the same time the show has made it very clear that Ichabod loves his wife and I have no problem with that. It's sweet.

I love the idea of Ichabod/Abbie, but have a difficult time imagining it ever being canon.

Ichabod/Katrina is canon in the original story. Half of the story is about Ichabod earning enough money to marry the beautiful Dutch patrician's daughter Katrina Van Tassel.

I've never read the original story, I was only speaking about the show. I understand why Katrina is in Sleepy Hollow and wouldn't change that, they just don't do anything for me as a pairing. Maybe if I read the original I'd feel differently; who knows.
