lol This+1. It's hilarious, because Frozen DOES make a great tumblr movie. Two women talking?! About things other than romance?! And the act of true love is her sister sacrificing herself instead of getting kissed to save her sister's life?!-They'd be all over that if it weren't for the 'omgnotrightskincolor' bs.

Yes. And now that it turns out that it is a hit and people actually like the plot, many tumblrs are going through the whole thing pointing out all the goofs like it is the most tragic thing ever. I am over here going, "All movies have goofs. Your favorite movie? Yeah, there are mistakes in it." It doesn't matter how many people are working on it. Doesn't matter the budget. Something will always slip through the cracks. It is what happens when humans are involved. There is even a website dedicated to finding and reporting all the goofs. http://www.moviemistakes.com/ And so far, they have over a 100,000 counts of mistakes. And growing with every new release.

I think it's probably the most feminist of the Disney Princess films yet. That's not to say it's flawless, but I wish people would stop ignoring all the ways it succeeded to talk about how it failed - at something it wasn't even trying to do! (Also, I wish they would realize that the Sami people, while they are indeed a marginalized indigenous group, are white-skinned before they start complaining about the whitewashing.)

That's the thing. Would I like more diversity in this and a lot of aniimated movies? Yes. But the movie does so much right in being a movie about sisterly love and genuinely exploring the relationship between two women that I think there's a lot of good to get from it.

I think it was a genuinely lovely film, with two great female leads, some good songs, and a lot of interesting moments. If you think it deserves criticism, that's fine, but I think it has enough good in it that I can recommending it.

yep

Besides, like how many other children's movies are all white characters and sideline the girls... and this is the one they want to pick on? OKAY THEN.

This tbh. Like, it's not that there aren't valid points about representation and such, but it honestly feels like people just like the hate bandwagon too much to actually give something credit where credit's due.
