Transcripts!
Secret 1 - Yu-Gi-Oh! (trading card game)
I haven't played this game in years. A recent comment in this community made me feel incredibly nostalgic about it, and want to play it again.
The problem? In the years since I've stopped playing, I've become much more aware of the stereotypes associated with card players, and I really don't want to be associated with that.
Secret 2 - Bridesmaids (film)
I didn't find Bridesmaids funny. I found it really sad and depressing.
We're supposed to see her as unreasonable and selfish (and, if forums are anything to go by, most people who watched it did) but I thought everyone in the film treated her like crap and her attitude was completely justified as a result of it. I relate to that so much. [sad face emoticon]
Secret 3 - The Hobbit (Peter Jackson films)
I could happily watch three straight hours of just (1) dwarves fighting orcs while riding in barrels and (2) Radagast haring around. Maybe some cameos from the admittedly badass dragon.
Secret because: I hear all the bitchin' about the movies being too pulpy or whatever, and I want them to be MORE silly?
Bonus secret: I am 100% headcanoning Ori and Bofur as ladies.
Secret 4 - Ghost in the Shell (anime)
When I was in my teens I idealised The Laughing Man, he was everything I tried and wanted to be as a person working within a corrupt system. But I've come to realise that after nearly a decade I've become Section 9 instead.
Notes
"The Laughing Man is an expert hacker, able to hide his physical presence by editing himself out of video feeds and cybernetic eyes, concealing his identity by superimposing an animated logo over his face, and hijacking cybernetic brains altogether, all in real-time."
He apparently assaulted an important political figure on live television and used his mad hacking skills to hide his appearance from everyone ever, making them think that weird logo thing was his actual face, igniting a sort of counterculture in the public.

"Public Security Section 9 was established as a search and rescue organization. Officially billed as an international organization, it is actually a counter-terrorist network and anti-crime unit operating in the Japanese National Public Safety Commission. Its operatives are allowed to act with or without government consent as they are almost unknown to the public eye. In particular, Section 9 and its members are among the best cyber warfare operatives in the country, and as a result usually end up involved in cases relating to the Internet, such as hacking and cyberterrorism."

Secret 5 - Slash fanfiction dynamics
In my slash pairings, I usually prefer it when the bigger, stronger partner is the penetrated and/or submissive partner in smutty fic. I love the visual and the dynamic it elicits. It's unfortunately rare for a lot of smaller pairings, though, and no one else seems to squee over the same dynamic as me. [sad face emoticon]
Secret 6 - Sleepy Hollow (2013 TV series)
The way Katrina is treated by the fandom has turned me off the show completely. I don't even really like her character and ship Ichabbie, but the vitriol tossed her way is disgusting.
Secret 1: Katrina wouldn't be this hated if Abbie wasn't the second coming because of her skin colour. I get it, there aren't enough Women of Color in media, but Abbie is not the best thing since sliced cheese.
Secret 2: If Abbie was white, there would be more canon (Ikatrina) shippers.
Secret 3: I think Ichabod loves his wife and I think Katrina loves her husband.
Secret 7 - Star Trek, Star Wars, The Hunger Games, The Lord of the Rings; books vs movie/show
[Star Trek, Star Wars]
Love the books, dislike the movies/show.
[Hunger Games, Lord of the Rings]
Love the movies, dislike the books.
Secret because: shun the blasphemer! shuuuuuunnnn
Secret 8 - Frozen (2013 animated film)
I really can't wait for everyone to stop talking about this movie.
Secret 9 - Love triangles in fiction
Seeing love triangles everywhere made me hate them, but I think I'm starting to get sick of people complaining about them.
And maybe I don't actually mind them too much.
Secret 10 - Pregnancy in fanfiction
The idea of being pregnant/giving birth really weirds me out (I'd like to have kids though, but adopted ones). But I really like reading well done pregnancy fanfiction (including omega!verse and male pregnancy).
I feel weird about it.
Secret 11 - Cathy (newspaper comic strip)
My mother's name is Kathy. She looks, talks, and acts almost exactly like Cathy. (She even goes "Aack!" when she's surprised.) I always used to love this comic, because it was like I was reading about my mother.
I've never met anyone else who doesn't consider this comic sexist--apparently, Cathy reads as a walking stereotype to most people. But I don't think my mother is really that stereotypical, and I wonder if the drive towards "strong female characters" is neglecting some of the kinds of people that women can be.
Secret Because: This comic ended years ago; no1curr.
Secret 12 - Epic Rap Battles of History (YouTube comedy video series)
Not Secret: I think NicePeter's a really good-looking guy!
Secret: I am SO attracted to him in this video. I'm pretty sure it's because of the very silky, soothing Bob Ross voice. I've never been attracted to Bob Ross otherwise, just the Epic Rap Battles version of Bob Ross.
