In general, yes. But if the producers specifically want their character to be white, why would they call for non-white actors?

I don't think producers should limit race when casting something like Santa. They should be open to everyone. I can't really think of a good reason why Santa in a movie should only be cast white.

wwwwellll maybe because the producers want the aesthetics to stay the same? If they go for the traditional, look-im-santa!11 image of Santa, why ever would limiting their casting call to white people be an issue?
