Err, living in Japan, I wouldn't say Christmas is a "big deal." At least nowhere near the West. Stores get decorated, parents might give kids presents, but it's not a huge holiday. It's more seen as a romantic holiday to go out with your lover. But it's not a big deal.

SK, I would guess more, there's actually Christians there.

I mean yeah not as big as in the US, but it's enough to inspire Christmas music, presents, santa, christmas cake, etc. It's not a fringe thing, is what I mean; it's not like no one celebrates it there.
