Well, omegaverse is mostly slash from what I've been able to tell - the females are usually in the background anyway.

It may be that vaginas are icky for some people, but I think some of it comes from the idea that alphas impregnate omegas, and female alphas (easier to find than a unicorn, but only just) need to have some kind of sperm or some way to impregnate their omegas.

I don't read ABO, but I do read a lot about it.

AYRT: I'll admit that the only a/b/o fic I've read is Avengers related and if there are women, they are either omegas or Pepper and Natasha and have some kind of secret dick that comes out when they need to fuck omegas because they're in heat. It's very off putting.

I did the same in RP. It's not A/B/O RP though, just slashy, with characters who needed to have heirs (they're royalty). I actually left the details up to them, but both pairs went with having new vaginas that proved to be quite fun while they were trying to get pregnant.

Hmmmm... The first a/b/o fic I ever read had a female alpha with a vagina and, by the end of the fic, every intention of impregnating her omega sub.

I hadn't read enough fics in this genre to know that it was such an outlier though.

it's mostly a breeding kink thing. authors that was to write female characters as "alphas" need to give them some way to, uh, fertilize their partner? so they get dicks. usually in addition to vaginas, i think. and male omegas have dicks and then like...vaginas in their asses. it's weird.

No but to be honest female alphas can be truly horrifying; many authors decide that their clitoris' morph into a knotting penis like organ that can lock inside their partner and I'm sorry but that kind of image is nightmare fuel to me.
