(Anonymous) 2013-12-16 03:09 am (UTC)(link)So between the claims of crappy characterisation (which is true, because they're really poor interpretations of HP characters, but are at least consistent with themselves) and the fact that none of the plagiarized lines in her fanfic stuff was in her published stuff... what exactly are we still bitching about?
I have no dog in this fight, but really... wtf are we complaining about, here. Fanfic from 10 years ago, or the published characters that were inspired by but CLEARLY not accurate to HP characters? (Like another commenter, this reminds me of 50 Shades. It might be terrible fiction, but that doesn't mean it was immoral in its publishing.)

(Anonymous) 2013-12-16 05:36 am (UTC)(link)Otherwise, others aren't saying TMI has plagiarism, but that they'll never read them and are glad the bombed because of the author being...well, the author.
Most people don't bounce back from plagiarism. You have to acknowledge and apologize and really prove yourself (all things she hasn't done), but since it was all in fandom it really hasn't caught up with her. Her movie bombing fells like it is catching up to her.
Though, really it is probably just her not being a very good author and not putting the work in to become a good author catching up with her.
This is just a matter of people in general not liking to see someone cheat and win. It is a natural instinct.
