I honestly feel Brave is more feminist, but I enjoy that the two leads were females. A lot.

Oh wharever. Just because her mother was trying to guilt her into marry someone she didn't want to marry in order to avoid war...look, it wasn't right but never once did I get the sense that Merida was being victimized. By anyone.

It was about what a girl wants for herself versus what her mother wanted for her. A conflict that has always existed and always will. I highly doubt the Disney people were thinking in terms of encouraging rape culture.

Plus half the message of the film was that they were wrong to try to make that choice for Merida? So if anything it discourages rape culture?
