It's a cheesy story. When I was a kid, I was really into Astronomy (my grandpa used to work at ESO Observatory La Silla in the north of our country). Whenever we went on vacation to a place where you could actually see the stars in their true glory, he taught me about which constellations you could see in the Southern Hemisphere.

When I moved to Guatemala on yeah 2000, I knew there was this TERRIBLY DIFFICULT TO FIND constellation, with stars that were quite dim but definitively /there/, named "Lynx". You were supposed to have 20/20 sight to catch it, and I had gotten my first pair of glasses the previous year. I got obsessed with finding it! (Spoilers: Sometimes I think I did, but I'm REALLY not sure, because the sky in Quetzaltenango was permanently foggy, even when it was kinda clear).

To this day, I don't know for sure if I spotted the Lynx constellation. But in the meanwhile, I learnt about lynxes - as in, the animal. Soon, they became my favorite ^^ I love all kinds of felines, but there's something about lynxes that really speaks to me!

I started going by Daniela_Lynx online, when I was around 11 years old and after I came back to Chile. But soon I dropped the "Daniela" part, as I felt more and more disconnected with my birth name. Nowadays, only my family (and a couple of friends who get a pass, and people who don't bother to ask about nicknames) call me "Daniela" at all (I dislike it, because it's so damn common for women my age! Everyone named their daughters "Daniela" or "Camila" here in year 88, they were the most popular names back then, and as a consequence, I always got called by my surname, which I hate).

My friends, both online and IRL, they all call me Lynx :3
