But I'd rather watch/read about "fucked up" than "bland" in fiction, because it's more interesting to me. Hannibal/Will may be a bit extreme, but I like drama. I'd rather see more INTERESTING gay relationships, at any rate, something I rarely find in mainstream media.

Also, I'd prefer "fucked up" to "bland" too, but I don't think "happy" automatically equals "bland".
