2) if you saw the end of season 3, then it was painfully obvious it was referring to The Master.
You're either trolling, or care so little about DW that you can't even be bothered to follow the most basic plots, let alone the complex Moffat ones.

And the best part was that it didn't invalidate the Master theories either. It wasn't like RTD was like "oh well, they guessed it's the Master. better take him out and throw in a different plot so I can go 'ha ha ha' at the end." He played on both character and audience expectations and worked both manifestations in.
