Fuller is the captain of this ship, I swear. I get why people are pessimistic about these things, but I don't know, I don't see it as just baiting when it comes from a showrunner who's gay himself and who's extremely respectful of the fans. Even if nothing ever happens for whatever reason, he gets it in a way the straight ones typically don't. It seems a little shortsighted to say "x will never happen" on a show this bizarre and unusual anyway, and I'd have trouble seeing Hannibal himself as 100% any orientation. Crazy in love with beauty in various forms + insatiable curiosity = open to all kinds of boning with all kinds of people, to my mind.

Replace Fuller with Davis, and Hannibal with Teen Wolf, and this could have been a comment straight out of Sterek fandom in their oh so optimistic phase a while back. And look what happened there. Just saying.

I'm not into Teen Wolf, but my understanding is that the Sterek guys aren't main characters and don't have much interaction, so I think these are pretty different situations. I'm not trying to be optimistic about it in that way because it really doesn't matter to me if anything happens or not, I'm just talking about how things look to me. So I'm just saying, too, heh.
