Uh. I really don't think Korra is the show to look to for good representation of any kind. :\

Unless you're looking for representation of a Sooper Awesome Gary Stu that the Korra writers think we're tuning in for, not, yknow, the fire-tempered Avatar.

I wasn't a big fan of him in S1, and then they made it worse is S2. *claws face*

I actually got to like him this season :S It did bug me that his detective arc had to be written in a way that emphasizes the incompetence of others, since it just raises questions like what is up with Lin's or the general police's judgement when it comes to hiring/promoting. You can have a cool character without having to knock someone down in comparison (not that I minded those two guys getting sacked ♥).

Glad I'm not alone. I actually grew to like Mako this season too. There's still some of his characterization that rubs me the wrong way, but he's not as bad as he was.
