Well she is the main character... they had to make people root for her somehow.

People make up stories all the time? I mean, I'm watching a show where apparently George Washington was fighting the forces of evil, literally.

Like, did you know Abraham Lincoln was secretly a vampire hunter?

It's in a book somewhere so it must be true.

She's the main character? From the promotional copy and stuff I assumed Elizabeth Woodville was the main character. I may finally check this out, for all that I don't expect much from it.

The story is mainly split between elizabeth woodville, anne neville and henry the 7ths mother (whose name I can't remember for the life of me at the moment). Some episodes focus more heavily on one character than another and the series starts off with elizabeth in particular before veering off to the other ladies.

henry the 7ths mother

Margaret Beaufort. Fascinating story--she gave birth to Henry at age 13. It's amazing she even survived. And BOY was she a power player.

I'd say she's one of three. The series has a deliberate focus on her, Elizabeth Woodville and Margaret Beaufort and the roles they play in the Wars of the Roses. And yeah, probably best not to expect a whole lot. The costumes are pretty (though I can't vouch for historical accuracy) and it's a little less ridiculous than The Tudors, but not by a whole lot.
