Castiel was the only thing getting me through this season. As least he was not doing the same ol' stupid shit.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 03:57 am (UTC)(link)In Season 6 he was secretly working with Crowley to open Purgatory, taking him into a downward spiral of questionable choices, while leading a rebel contingent against Raphael's forces in Heaven. Now he's going to be caught between two warring angelic factions on Earth, both of whom want his head on a platter, neither of whom has any business taking power, and whom he presumably will be trying to stop from killing each other. In S6 he was convinced of his own righteousness and ability to handle anything, whereas this season he's flat-out declared that he failed at being an angel and has done nothing but question his own competence.
The only thing I see that the two plots have in common is angels fighting angels.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 05:56 am (UTC)(link)I was still annoyed that the show never called Dean on his alcoholic emotionally abusive season seven bullshit, and that episode made me realize that there's nothing new or likable about these characters anymore.

I love how fucked up Sam and Dean are (Dean especially), and I love that motherfuckers are pretty much subsiding on guilt, pain, and co-dependence, but I'd like for them to learn a lesson this time. I'm behind like three eps, so I haven't seen Kevin get killed yet, but both Sam and Dean liked (loved in little brother way?) him much and I hope this time it'll learn 'em.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 03:18 am (UTC)(link)seeing as we've had an interview where they say Dean doesn't even mourn Kevin because, you know, mourning him would make Dean such a girl, I doubt it learns anyone anything.
Except me. It learned me to stop watching this fucking show.

But he can mourn for Sam and Cas???

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 12:39 am (UTC)(link)Secret 6 - Supernatural (warning for SPOILERS)
[Picture is Sam and Dean Winchester from the TV series "Supernatural". They are two men with light skin and brown hair wearing casual clothes like denim jackets standing looking confused and/or upset at something with several tall trees behind them, during nighttime.]
I've stuck by this show for so long, through the good and the bad. But damn. I'm ready for Sam and Dean to kick the bucket. This time for good.
I'm tired of seeing them making all of these suspect deals because they can't live without one another. And someone is always caught in the crossfire. (This time it was poor Kevin.)
Fuck Sam and Dean. They're awful people and they're the reason I don't enjoy the show anymore.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 01:19 am (UTC)(link)But it is very frustrating how everyone in the show seems to be nearly incapable of learning from mistakes. Or sometimes they seem to, but then backslide a season or two later.
Or maybe that's the writers.no subject
(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 01:42 am (UTC)(link)Sam seems more content to let things go. He let Dean go when Dean was zapped into purgatory and didn't look for him (which, tbh, I found rather awful) and tried to move on with his life and have something normal.
Dean has serious, serious issues that just get creepier as the show goes on.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-21 03:20 am (UTC)(link)Now if Dean actually DOES LEARN this time and gets off his moral high horse, which is something I've thought needed to happen to him for a long long time, we might get somewhere. Not really holding my breath, though.
