Eren is a angry traumatized child. All he's ever known is that the Titans kill everyone he cares about, he's fighting back and not allowing people he knows to be massacred. Plus it will be interesting to see how he reacts once he learns the true nature of the titans. His missions are never just to "kill Titans" they're information gathering and creating a barricades. More more life experiences he gains the more his views change.

Yeah, pretty much. And as much as he hates titans, and the titan shifters, he hesitated in chomping Annie because he saw her crying. He's started off with bloody-minded vengence but that's being tempered with the fact that life is never that simple.

Not really. Bertolt and Reiner cried too yet Eren still wants to kill the FUCKING TRAITORS.

True, but that's because they're directly responsible for killing his mom. And considering the tone of this series, I bet that even if he kills them both, it won't be a clean triumphant victory without pain or regret.

Moreover, once we figure out who sent Bert and Reiner out to kill humanity, I'm sure the target of Eren's rage will divert at least a little. And does he know the fact that most titans are humans yet? Even goddamn Levi and Hanji were shaken by that.

This is assuming that Eren isn't stark raving mad. Considering his extremely vile temper and his belief that some people deserve to be killed like animals, I don't think his goals will change that much. I'm actually looking forward to him finding out that people=titans, because I expect he'll act like the unbalanced individual he is, and we'll get to see the other characters react to that.

Hmm, we just might see him differently. You're perfectly right that he might very well just go "So?" when he's told that humans were titans, but I bet that the series will very much punish him for that. He also might really upset about it, because he's face so much fear and hate for being a titan shifter that it might have taught him some empathy.

And while I have no explaination as to how he murdered those slavers without regret, Eren isn't 'stark raving mad'. He's extremely traumatised, orphaned, angry kid in a society with absolutely no therapy. Honestly I find it refreshing, because a kid that's been through what he has WOULD be more like Eren than most generic shounen protagonists.

He saved Mikasa's life by killing those slave traders, why would that be something to regret?

Nobody's calling Mikasa a psychopath because she killed one of the guys too.
