I'm not a hardcore Tolkein fan by any means, but I found it enjoyable and kind of amusing to see Lee Pace in this role, since previously I'd only ever seen him in Pushing Daisies, looking like a regular guy.

I enjoy seeing actors play a real variety of different roles, instead of being typecast. Seeing a regular joe get all done-up like a mystical elf is kind of fun....
