i feel quite similar about my fandom! but at the same time - i didn't write for ages (like you seem to have) and now i want to, and the reason i want to is largely... my ship. and that's how i've always done fandom really. 60% OTP to some gen. it wasn't so noticably in doctor who because it was a massive fandom and other people were writing a whole load of other stuff - still, i do think: being able to write is important. and you can only really write what you want to write when you're in fandom and love of what you're writing is pretty much the main inducement...

lmao. I was doing internet cruising, saw this, and instantly, irrationally thought, "I hope that's not aralias making that secret, because I don't care if we don't share OTPs, she writes GOOD FIC and I want to read all of it forever."

aha. thank you, anon. this is a lovely comment to get (or at least it was once my brain kicked into gear and i was able to process what you'd actually said instead of what i initially read, which was 'i hope that's not aralias'. i am apparently fairly paranoid at 8am). i certainly hope to!
