Well, that is quite a bold assertion to make. She made some well-intentioned and well-received statements, but that hardly means you automatically need to cut her acting skills a slack. Besides, you only know her public persona, you don't really know what sort of person she is.

I don't get this attitude. It's like the anon who thought Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellan weren't really great friends, they were just acting or queer baiting to boost their career or something. It's ridiculously cynical, to the point where I wonder if ya'll aren't just trolling.

Being off the cuff as she is during interviews, the stuff that comes out of her mouth, it's possible the girl is just quick-witted and genuine.

It might be bold, but I'm not going to assume by default, absent inside information, that she's not as genuine as she appears to be. It's too cynical to believe everything she says and does in interviews and outtakes is planned, down to what she knows the interviewer will say.

That would make her a good actress, which is contrary to what anon seems to be advocating.

Do you believe "reality shows" also reflect true day-to-day events and reactions, just wondering.

Her public persona can't stray too far from her actual personality without someone behind the scenes selling out the secret, but her PR team is earning their pay.

anon didn't say that they cut her acting skills some slack because of her personality and they even agree with the notion that she's a so-so actress. and do you always go "but you don't really know what they're like" whenever someone says that like an actor's personality?
