This secret makes for a great game of 'troll or sociopath'?

That, too. I took that part for granted -- I mean if you're just a troll or someone who doesn't understand how emotion works, you're probably not going to pick a young black girl who's been the center so so much racial controversy just be coincidence.

Oh shut up. This wasn't a secret about not knowing how anyone could be saddened by the death of a little black girl, it was a secret about not knowing how a minor character who died early in a series became the fandom's favourite. If anyone's trolling here it's you. No one brought up race except you.

Not really? Someone not getting the appeal of a character doesn't make them a sociopath. Specially considering how melodramatic fandom can get, someone not getting it is perfectly normal.

I think there's a difference between "I don't get the appeal of a character" and "I don't understand why people would find the fictional death of a child sad"?

but op said they did get why a child dying would be terrible

Lol. I didn't say I didn't understand why anyone would like her or be sad about her death. Duh, she's likeable and it's sad. I just said I didn't get how she was so many people's number 1 favourite character or thought her death was so much sadder than anyone else's since there were so many deaths and she died so quickly.

Not feeling for the death of someone else's favorite character isn't a sign of either sociopathy or troll-ish-ness. It's a sign that they have different opinions than you. Accusing OP of trolling or being a sociopath would be like me accusing you of being a narcissist.

Agreed. I find it a bit disheartening how many people are jumping on this bandwagon.

I wonder if I should feel accomplished that I trolled without meaning to.

I knew some people wouldn't like this (duh it's a fandomsecret) but I truly could not have anticipated this much butthurt over someone feeling that a character death was too unsurprising and obviously 'look this is sad!' to really be saddened by. Or is it because I don't like their favourite character as much as them?
