Go for it.

Full-body costumes in general are very warm. A full-body fur-covered costume is HOT; like another commenter said, it's not uncommon for cooling points or entire cooling fans/systems to be built into the suits. Don't forget to take frequent water breaks (some people even wear camelpaks under their suits!). You could always do what's called a 'partial', just a head and whatever extremities would be visible beyond clothing, those tend to be cooler, cheaper, and easier to store and transport.

If you enjoy it, though, you'll figure out a way to keep yourself comfortable while in costume. :}

I'm not a furry, but I like looking at the fur suits. Those partial ones always seem like cheating to me. They never look like clothing over a furry person, it just looks like a shortcut/laziness.

Yeah, you do have to be careful to make the entire ensemble fit with a partial.
