Yeah, loads of good intentions and well meaningingness, but he still ripped John's heart out through his ribcage and used it as a crash mat. Plus John is left to face the media storm alone. After all that Moriarty whipped up, the British Tabloids will want someone to lynch and if Sherlock is dead and Mycroft is anonymous that just kinda leaves the surviving sidekick to carry the can. I'd be pretty pissed about that too. Plus it is the same principle that makes your mother whup your ass when she sees you almost get run over in traffic. Relief that your stupidity didn't kill you does not erase the stupid in the first place.
