I liked what they did with his character, though I was expecting something to twist as soon as Anna (Ana?) left him in charge. But then again, I'm a cynic.

haha, yes. as soon as she left him in charge i was like, oh, damn, he's going to turn out to be totally corrupt and evil.

Anna leaving him in charge and everyone else just going with it was one of my biggest "Wait, what?" moments in the movie. If Elsa is just now being crowned, clearly someone has been running the country in the interim. Where were they, and why were they not taking the reins instead of some stranger appointed by an underage princess with no apparent political say?

Frozen is just not a very well thought-out movie.

Uh, in terms of ruling, it wasn't meant to be. the core of the movie was between sisters, not them governing the country.

Same; I was like "oh shit she left someone she's known for a day in charge, shit is not going to end well."

I agree with you, also I actually liked the message. It was refreshing to see an anti love at first sight message in this sort of Disney Princess film. I think it was a warning to girls that reality isn't like that. Also liked the message about the only actual love was between the sisters.

So did I. My mother went to see the movie without really having previous knowledge about, and the first time he appeared she said: "He's evil, isn't he?"
