Man, am I glad I wasn't frequenting tumblr when this happened.

Anyway, the joke was stupid and tasteless but I don't think it makes him the worst person in the world. Rape jokes are definitely gross imo, but at the same time he's human like everyone else, says things he shouldn't from time to time, and I'm not going to stop watching him because of it.

However, yes, I get why people are upset, and don't think it's unreasonable to be. (Certain people just take it too far.)

yes this. people have every right to be upset.

idk he seems like a bit of a... harsh person. but i hope the backlash leads to a real genuine apology on his part. at the very least him saying, yes, drugging some one SHOULD be called rape. if he never apologizes for the joke itself, i hope he at least acknowledges that it WAS a rape joke.

I doubt he's going to address it, although it would be fantastic if he would apologize. That said, I doubt it will happen. SOMEONE probably mentioned it to him though, so I imagine he's been told "Uh, not cool". (Which might not be what people want, but hey.)

The joke was creepy and gross, and the thread above creeps me out a bit too. I would hope he doesn't truly believe that about drugs and was just making an inappropriate joke.

I'm a bit dismayed I missed being able to +1 liveoddly's comment, so whoever you are liveoddly you are a cool person who phrases things well.

I'd have been finish if the dude had just made his bad joke, but the rape line after it and now the FS discussion above is D: I've got a coworker who does jokes like that and it's yet to stop being creepy.

Definitely, the joke itself was stupid but then he commented on how people would be offended (and I don't care what anyone says, I didn't read that as being part of his joke) and that seemed to make it worse. Joke about rape if you must (and liveoddly definitely made a good comment about rape jokes) but at least own up to the fact that that's what you're doing. And the now frozen thread is pretty disheartening because damn, so many people seem to not get it and just want to handwave it away as dark humor. Because apparently dark humor is beyond reproach!

And people who are glad that others are upset over this...just wow. I know making fun of SJWs is the new thing but there's got to a point where you realize that this might have actually hurt someone.
